There's always a Basic concept to Every Complexity.

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog. Art has always been an interest of mine, but I hadn't given it much thought until recently. I read this book "The Creative Act" by Rick Rubin In his very first chapter, he stated that everyone can be a creator. Although this author had also said in the beginning of the book that everything in the book is not exactly factual, he is attempting to portray his own personal opinions. I kinda agreed to the concept that everyone can be a creator, which means that it's not just traditional artists who can be considered creative. We all know that creativity is about producing something that has never existed before; it is more than just making art. However, I'm planning on embarking into the fashion journey, where I create beautiful and magnificent designs, and bring those designs to reality as a fashion designer. I'm still thinking about it though.

Well, this book kinda inspired me alot that I recently began to take lectures on how to properly sketch from scratch and I realized one thing about being creative is that, behind every complexity, there's always a basic concept, meaning there's always a simple procedure or first step to start with when faced with a challenge. Every journey first begins with a step they say. So, I was given four different shapes. A square, a vertical rectangle, a right angled triangle and an oval.

These shapes represented the very crucial parts of the body when sketching. The square went in for the upper part of the body, while the vertical rectangle represented the lower part of the body which was from the waist down to the legs.

However, the oval shape represented the face, while the right angled triangle in its opposite directions represented the two short sleeves of the shirt. Now this is me trying to sketch a man rocking a Polo and a cargo pant. After doing so, I began to give it more detailing so one could understand what I was trying to sketch.

Now you see how I have successfully made my first clothing sketch with just some simple concept using 4 different shapes. Using those little concepts made me realize that no matter how overwhelming a project or anything at all is, there's always a basic concept or tactics to go about those complexities.

Until next time, Do have a wonderful day.
