Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, trust you all are having a great week. On today's prompt presented by @hivelearners,
When was the last time you went to the hospital? Why did you go? And how did it turn out? Please share your experience with us
It's got me reminiscing and also being thankful to the Almighty for life. I must say, the hospital is not one of the places I would ever want to be. There you would see different individuals with their different diseases and challenges. Some might make it out alive, strong and healthy while some might as well kick the bucket. The last time I visited the hospital I could remember vividly that that was the week I was supposed to visit a long time friend of mine for her birthday. It was around the 7th of last month when I fell seriously ill. It became so severe that my flat mate got scared and had to contact my family. At that time I was still away in another state far away from my parents
I then made plans to return home to see my folks, after which I was taken to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital, we waited until it was my turn to see the doctor. After examining me, the doctor told one of his nurses to collect samples of my blood and urine for testing. My Dad, who was really anxious, wanted the doctor to begin treatment right away because I was in a lot of pain at that moment. The symptoms were a strong headache, a high body temperature, feeling nauseous and stooling at the same time. Given that I had a series of different meals all together, I suspected food poisoning or diarrhea at that point in time.
For the headache and the high body temperature to calm down, the doctor sent a prescription to the nurses to give me an injection which would calm it down and then asked for me to return back to the hospital in the evening hours for my test results. This whole nauseous feeling made me so restless, uncomfortable, unable to eat nor sleep properly. I went back to the hospital for my test results. It turns out that I was diagnosed with malaria infection. The doctor did mention something else but I was too down to understand anything he was saying at that point. Then immediately, he wrote down some prescription for drugs and also for the injections that will be administered to me. I refuse to be admitted to the hospital. I suggest that I would rather come from home because Gosh!I hate being in the hospital so much.
The treatment lasted for about 3 days and my dad had been the one driving me to the hospital for the period of that 3 days. But here's the thing, even after the series of injections and drugs I took, I still had that nauseous feeling as well as the severe headache. I laid a complaint to the doctor and he suggested that I needed to eat properly, take lots of rest, and always stay hydrated. However, the experience was very weird but a good one because I caught myself slacking when I started crying because I was scared of taking injections hahahaha. Well, I'm perfectly fine now.
Thanks for reading anyways, until next time, Do have a wonderful day.
