Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Shout out to @galenkp for this weekend's prompt. They're fascinating subjects. Lying can weaken trust and harm friendships and relationships, it's sort of frustrating and upsetting when individuals do it to me.The feeling of being misled and deceived is something I truly dislike.
I totally understand that individuals may lie for a variety of reasons, maybe to protect themselves or others, to gain advantage over others, or to avoid being penalized. Also, some people lie just to manipulate or mislead others, or just to get away with anything. However, some persons may fabricate stories out of fear, insecurity, or a lack of communication skills and in most cases it's as a result of mental health issues. I'm not claiming to be perfect or that I have never lied, but even a tiny bit of honesty sometimes, can save us all the time and stress.
Lying has major repercussions for both the one telling the lie and the one being lied to. When someone lies, it can generate distrust. The person who was lied to could feel deceived, perplexed, hurt, and struggle to trust the perpetrator in the future. The individual who is lying, on the other hand, could feel guilty, ashamed, or anxious, and if discovered, might suffer some consequences. However, they may have to keep up with the deception, which can be extremely draining. You know, there's this feeling once a lie is being told the first time, you keep making up new ones to cover up the earlier ones so as to protect your reputation and honor. Personally, I believe that sometimes being honest might or could benefit you. You never can tell. It cost nothing just to be honest.
**A friendly advice;**If you ever find yourself suffering with someone else's deception, it's important to express your feelings to them and make an effort to understand their point of view. And if the lying continues consistently, It's advisable to take a step back and consider if you want to keep that connection/relationship.
Thank you for reading anyways. Enjoy your weekend.
