Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Happy new week yall. I appreciate @hivelearners for today's prompt. It's really an interesting topic. You see, self-love is a really crucial thing we need in our daily lives because it helps to develop self-esteem and self-worth and it helps to ward off bad behaviors and negative self-talk. We are more likely to make positive decisions, establish and meet our objectives, and cultivate long-lasting relationships when we love ourselves. There are many various ways that we may love ourselves. In any case, I don't really remember going on many "me-time" outings since I hardly ever attend social events unless they are really important. However, I vividly remember this one since it just occurred.
On New Year's Eve of last year, I was a bit depressed and feeling a little bored. I literally spent Christmas and New Year's alone at home since my whole family had traveled to my hometown for the holidays. Because it was the weekend, I got up that morning and cleaned my home. Whether you live with your parents or on your own, you must surely be conscious of the need to clean your home on Saturdays in Nigerian homes. Isn't it ironic? I then moved on to do some pushups. I cooked a very delicious breakfast, watched a few episodes of the anime "Kuroko No Basket" while I eat, then I had to take a little sleep (I need to keep in shape).
When I got up from my little sleep at 3 o'clock that afternoon, I began to feel a little strange and didn't want to start worrying about almost everything again. I really wasn't planning to leave the house that day, but I really had to. I took a bath, got ready, and contacted a few friends and my girlfriend since I didn't want to go by myself. I requested an Uber. Man! The cost was a little more that day than I had anticipated, although I had a budget for the expenses I was going to make for this outing. The ride cost about $4, maybe it's as a result of the strong demand for rides over the holiday season whereby everyone would want to go out with their friends and families.
In any case, we arrived to the lounge, "THE 411 Signature," which is situated in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I immediately placed a pizza and drink order which cost me about $10. We exchanged words, smiles, and business-related ideas. Then the lads and I engaged in a game of snooker. I mostly practice with my phone, therefore I'm still a beginner while playing on the board. Even though I often fell short against my friends, I still liked playing with them.
Following that, we proceeded to join the women for some Karaoke. I met this guy whose voice was really lovely. Damn!! I was fascinated. I submitted a list of the songs I planned to perform. Even though I don't have a really excellent voice, I simply wanted to have some fun. One of the songs I contributed was "Perfect by Ed Sheeran," so when it was played, I instantly seized the opportunity to sing along with my partner. In all honesty, singing made me a little emotional, but it was also a lovely experience. That event was the finest time I have spent on myself so far, other than working out at the gym.
Thanks for reading anyways. Have a lovely week.
